Worshipping without Priest or Orthodoxy: Letting the Rhythm Save Your Soul

Mashing the Cocteau twins with Latin Rock, Brooklyn’s Salt Cathedral evokes an aura of ethereal sounds, which seep sensuously into your heart and limbs, while the lilting vocals fill your mind with thoughts of a natural world faraway from so-called civilization. If Henri Rousseau could turn his paintings into music, they might have turned out like the songs written and performed by Juliana Ronderos and Nicolas Losada. The video shown here is from their opening set for Cibo Matta, which they performed at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, AZ on Friday, February 21, 2014.
